Gothenburg (Göteborg)

Gothenburg is the second largest city of Sweden with about half a million inhabitants. It has traditionally been a harbour city and has by Swedish measurements a long history of jazz music. All the latest jazz tunes could be heard at port coming from the American ships. The Gothenburg lindy hop scene as of today is dating from 1983 and currently boasts about 500 local lindy hoppers.

Getting around the center of Gothenburg is most easily done by tram; there are 14 different tram lines and they run frequently. Central Gothenburg is also small enough to be walkable, however, the dances will not be downtown so a public transit pass (available at most convenient stores) might be a good investment.
